PAL Room
The Programme for Active Learners (PAL) room is often used for music lessons. The open space allows for teachers to conduct musically engaging lessons through student-centric approaches where students learn through the musical experiences of listening, performing and creating.
Along the second floor in Block D, there are 3 of such rooms. These classrooms are fully equipped with musical instruments that support our teaching and learning. Not forgetting, there's soundproofing in these rooms, which allows the surrounding classes to continue with lessons and not be hindered by the lovely music produced.

Performing Art Room
A special provision in ATS, the Performing Arts Studio is a soundproof room, fully equipped with a sound system, stage, curtains and backstage. It is the perfect location for mini-skits, concerts and digital art exhibitions. Here, we have held performances by professionals and students. Playscape Room




The Playscape Room aims to provide every student with access and a resource-rich learning environment for making. Through Maker Education @ Playscape Room, students get to ideate, tinker and construct objects using digital or physical fabrication tools. They get to conceptualize and design their prototype and are given the opportunities to experience Design Thinking process from creative thinking to hands-on activities and engage in a process of collective learning through making. We hope to inspire our students to see themselves as inventors, makers and engineers by exposing them to a wide variety of ideas and perspectives to build their creative capital.

Treat and Trade Corner




Treat & Trade is an interactive reading corner in Ai Tong School. Students can swap books and browse magazines at this accessible location near the canteen.


The idea of Treat & Trade originated from a contribution surfaced through its student suggestion scheme, ATS Voices. The suggestion was adopted and implemented by Ai Tong’s English department to encourage a love for reading among its students by exposing students to a wider variety of books and bringing these books to them. Treat & Trade also promotes sustainability by providing students with the opportunity to swap books and give well-loved books a second lease of life.


One would notice that the design of Treat & Trade resembles a mama shop. In the early years of Singapore’s modern history, traditional mama shops brought our people together and built a strong sense of community. Situated at convenient locations, these mama shops became go-to places where Singaporeans could browse through reading materials and purchase snacks.


Treat & Trade hopes to invoke a sense of nostalgia for the good old days when people enjoyed flipping printed materials, from front to back. The mural installation was conceptualised with the idea of blending ready-made objects with conventional expressionism paintings to provide depth to the aesthetics and enhance the viewer’s experience of the area as a whole. With this corner, we hope to encourage ATS students to gather around while treating themselves to a good read or trading a good read for another.

Alumni Office


The Ai Tong School Alumni Association was founded on 10th October 1924. Throughout the history of the association, the Old Boys and Girls witnessed numerous closures and reinstatement of the association. In 1985, the alumni association finally took root and was officially formed.


Since then, the alumni association has worked hand in hand with the school to organise activities and events such as the Chinese New Year Celebrations, the Mid-Autumn Festival and the School Founder’s Day and many more.

Art & Craft Room



Our Art Curriculum is designed to ignite passion, develop visual literacy and appreciation in Art. Art learning focuses on the three domains of Seeing, Expressing and Appreciating. Our students are exposed to broad themes, various art forms and artists to cultivate appreciation of art and culture. The Art & Craft room serves as a third teacher, as the artworks are specially curated and placed around the room, serving to inspire our students as they develop their artistic abilities. We also have our very own kiln that is meant for the firing of ceramic pieces, made during our Art and Craft CCA sessions.

The Art History Wall is located on the 3rd floor, next to the Art Corner. This wall features our local artists who have contributed greatly to the Singapore Art scene. There are 3 art rooms. They are namely the Pottery Jungle, Painter's World and the Imaginative Space. In these three rooms the students will have the opportunity to learn a wide variety of artmaking techniques such as Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, Chinese Painting, Batik Painting, Stop Motion etc.

Basketball Court



The basketball court is a very popular venue for PE lessons and ATS sporting events. For Camps, students also gather here for easy access to the buses awaiting in the adjacent transport hub.


The surface is lined with a layer of non-slip paint so that students can engage in physical activities without slipping. To reduce time spent on retrieving PE equipment that go out of bounds, net curtains have been installed for PE teachers to use for the PE classes. This is also a safety feature to prevent students from chasing stray equipment and end up moving into the transport hub.

Bookshop

The bookshop is opened to parents for the purchase of books and school uniform from 2.pm. to 3p.m. This arrangement gives priority to students who need to purchase items from the bookshop during recess and immediately after school dismissal. Counselling Room



The counselling room is situated on the ground level of Block B. It is a conducive and inviting space for our school counsellor to engage our students. Dizigui Wall



Dizigui is part of the Chinese Culture and CCE programme in ATS. Students are exposed to the traditional Chinese values of being a good child, student and in general, a person who is well brought up and respected. The Dizigui Corridor explicitly displays the verses that are most applicable to our students at this young age. Walking along the Dizigui corridor allows them to revisit the values that they have learnt in the classroom.

ATS has a unique field built on level 3 above the transport hub. It is an artificially turfed field with excellent drainage that prevents flooding. With high fencing all around, this ensures that the PE equipment do not go out of bounds. It is a highly popular venue for Recess Structured Play where students get to play and interact with their friends sometimes through a game of football.

The General Office consists of Executive Administrative Staff (EAS) who predominantly serve functions in areas such as general administration, operation, finance, procurement and stakeholder management. Indoor Sports Hall




The Indoor Sports Hall, comes complete with a gallery for spectators, holds 4 badminton courts and is one of the main venues for PE lessons as well as school sporting events. The ATS Library is designed to cater to students of the various ages. Upon entering the library, students will be brought into the Harry Potter World - a genre that resonates well with the upper primary students. Even the borrowing counter blends into this world of fantasy. On the other side, adored by the lower primary students is a wall that features the Fairytale Land.


As we move into the library, we will be greeted by bookshelves lining the "Great Wall of China" which serves as a representation of our SAP culture. Finally, we reach a cosy corner of the library - a kopitiam that presents flavours of the different races in Singapore. This is also a place where students can gather to discuss about homework and projects. Otherwise, it can be a relaxing corner to devour a favourite book.

Outdoor Experiential Learning Garden



The Outdoor Experiential Learning Garden is home to many plants and living organisms. In this garden, students learn about different plants and their methods of pollination and seed dispersal through informative plant labels. A variety of flowering and non-flowering plants can be found in this garden. The water feature and the pond which provides shelter for fishes and aquatic plants are two popular attractions for the students during recess.

Outdoor Science Garden



This garden at Level 3 aims to provide a different garden experience with innovative features which can increase energy efficiency. One would be able to spot solar-panels, hydroponics and aquaponics systems in this garden. A functional rainwater-collection tank is installed to provide irrigation to some parts of the garden, reducing usage of water from the mains.


The garden also has a composting bin for garden and kitchen waste. The idea of a composting bin is a suggestion from the 2020 P5 CMPS students and the Green Leaders. The bin is a step towards zero waste at ATS. By composting our waste from the canteen, we hope to transform them into useful nutirents for all the plants at ATS.

PAL OE Garden




Also known as the ECO Garden, this garden houses familiar herbs and plants such as pandan leaves, mint, curry tree, lemongrass and papaya trees. The garden is also used as an outdoor learning space where P1 students learn more about gardening and are given the opportunities to grow their very own sweet potato plant.

PAL Room



The Programme for Active Learners (PAL) room is often used for music lessons. The open space allows for teachers to conduct musically engaging lessons through student-centric approaches where students learn through the musical experiences of listening, performing and creating.


Along the second floor in Block D, there are 3 of such rooms. These classrooms are fully equipped with musical instruments that support our teaching and learning. Not forgetting, there's soundproofing in these rooms, which allows the surrounding classes to continue with lessons and not be hindered by the lovely music produced.

PE Equipment Room




The largest PE store room in the school, this room holds most of the PE equipment required for our daily PE lessons. From the room, PE teachers and PE Monitors retrieve PE equipment needed for the lessons conducted mainly in the basketball court, running track, void deck, Parade Square and Indoor Sports Hall.

Performing Art Room



A special provision in ATS, the Performing Arts Studio is a soundproof room, fully equipped with a sound system, stage, curtains and backstage. It is the perfect location for mini-skits, concerts and digital art exhibitions. Here, we have held performances by professionals and students. Thereby, providing students the experience of being both a performer and an audience. These skills are essential in developing our students' 21st century competencies.

Recycle Right




Not sure of what can be recycled? Not sure of what to do before recycling an item? Don't fret! Your child can refer to the Recycle Right Wall in the canteen! The colourful graphics show what we need to do before we recycle an item and what cannot be recycled. Best thing is that this information is relevant for home too! How many times have we encountered dirty Bloobins? Change can start with us.

Reverse Vending Machine




To encourage more students to recycle, a Reverse Vending Machine is placed at the canteen to facilitate easy depositing of used beverage containers such as metal cans and plastic bottles. The machine is able to identify, sort and collect empty beverage containers and accepts over 3800 types of drink containers.

SLC Room



Home to the student leaders, the SLC Room is a common area for student leaders to gather for meetings and to plan and organise events. This room also stores resources that are required by the Student Leader Council.

School Heritage Gallery



The School Heritage Gallery brings one down memory lane to reminisce the rich history of this century old school. It was officially opened by the then Chairman of the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan, Mr Chua Thiam Poh, during the school’s 105th Anniversary.

Science Laboratory



Tucked in cosy corner of Level 2, are the 2 Science Laboratories - Lab A and Lab B. The open-concept design allows students to carry out investigations collaboratively under the supervision of the teachers. You can expect to see many different types of experiments involving life and physical science topics carried out by students from primary 3 to primary 6.


Both laboratories are well-stocked with equipment such as data loggers and microscopes. To make science learning fun, stick insects are bred in the science laboratories to provide students with opportunities to observe their social behaviour and life cyles. The science laboratories are also the place where ATS makes our very own orange enzymes as a cleaning agent for wipe-down routines!

Sustainable Singapore Story




The learning wall on environment and sustainability acts as a visual platform that provides opportunities for students to be more aware of environmental issues and be engaged in real world issues that transcend classroom walls. Integration of learning activities in school are made possible with Chinese vocabulary and displays relating to conservation of environment, VIA and CCE.

Transport Hub




The Transport Hub not only serves as a designated location for staff season parking but also allows parents or guardians to drop-off their children or wards in the morning prior to the commencement of school.
